CHARLOTTE, NC (WWAY) -- District Attorneys across North Carolina came to Charlotte Thursday to push for a safer state.

They unveiled a "Blueprint for a Safer North Carolina." It calls for legislators, local government and community leaders to come together to promote crime prevention.

It also asks state leaders to to increase funding for prosecutors. They say they receive fewer than three percent of the state budget each year.

The blueprint will also provide services to protect residents and victims.

"It's about the three 'P's' of community base prosecution; being proactive, focusing on prevention and making sure we have the partnerships that are necessary to do our jobs effectively," said District Attorney Ben David.

The blueprint will also provide services to protect residents and victims.
